Our summer of 2007 trip that started in Gothenburg, Sweden where we picked up our new Volvo, then continued on through Denmark, then to Germany, and a two-day stop in Salzburg, Austria.

Our first stop in Germany was the town of Goslar in the Harz mountains.

From there we visited Cochem in the Mosel Valley.

Near Cochem is the castle Burg Eltz.

The town of Beilstein, a short cruise down the Mosel River from Cochem.

Linderhof, one of Mad Ludwig's castles.

The view of the Alps from Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria.

A rococo-style church near Oberammagau.

You may remember this lake near Salzburg from "The Sound of Music"

Another Salzburg "Sound of Music" scene.

Dachau, the concentration camp near Munich that all German schoolchildren are now required to visit, I have read.

The fountain in Munich.

Finally, a short visit to Regensburg before turning in the Volvo in Munich.
